"I got the same issue and it was because of a software update to ANT+ agent being not compatible with the 405. I did however find that after step 3 I had to go through my computer and remove all instances of ANT AGENT before rebooting the computer, otherwise it automatically restarted the newer version even if the older version had been installed. The following seems to work, thanks to the link provided by Runninglorns. I have been having the same problems since my ANT Agent updated itself.
